How Willard Milslagle Books Was Born

For years, Burleigh Willard had toyed with the idea of collecting into a devotional book some of the rich knowledge of the Word of God which he had shared with his Bible school students. His first thought was to write one or two meditations on each book of the Bible.
Later, he began to collect his material around such headings as "Mountaintop Experiences in the Life of Our Lord" and "A God for All Ages." He developed a complete outline for the book and wrote a few of the meditations. But other commitments and challenges prevented him from progressing any further. At age 84, Burleigh wondered whether his project would ever be completed.
It was then that he discovered that his daughter, Celia Willard Milslagle, was interested in writing. She accepted his invitation to join him in writing the devotional book, and, in 2005, Willard Milslagle Books was born. Their joint effort, Streams of Living Water, was released in May 2007. Since then, Burleigh, who turned 90 in 2010, has revised or written four more manuscripts, with Celia editing and handling all the business arrangements. All of these are now in print and featured on this website. Watch this site for future books, articles, and stories by Burleigh or Celia.
